Mechanical design of an inverter

Together with Hyundai, C3D Ltd developed an inverter family’s mechanical elements shown in the pictures below (in Siemens NX Cad system).

During development, specific components – including sheet metal parts, cables, conductive rails of different sizes and shapes and various injection-molded parts – had to be reviewed and optimized based on manufacturability and mountability (DFMA). During the development, we supported our partner from the concept to the beginning of series production.

In addition to building the specific product family, we helped our partner to

  • develop production documentation (from draw numbering)
  • improve the modeling skills of their mechanical engineers (mainly surface modeling of injection molded parts)
  • make drawings for plastic parts for production
  • build product families in NX Cad system
  • create, manage and trace various parts lists (EBOM, MBOM).
